Transform Your Hair With A Keratin Treatment

19 Feb 2025

At Hare & Bone, we offer a range of extensive luxury hair care treatments in both our Fitzrovia salon and our Esher branch to keep your hair in its best possible condition. Today, we will focus on keratin treatments, what they are, the hair types that could benefit from them, and what you can expect during an appointment.

A keratin hair treatment can transform your hair into a more refined, smooth version of what you currently have. It’s perfect for reducing frizz, controlling volume and enhancing manageability resulting in straighter, silkier hair.

Here are some of the signs that you could benefit from a keratin treatment to help you achieve the silky smooth hair that you’ve always dreamt of!

You’re battling with frizz:

Frizz is a popular reason for those who decide to book in for a keratin treatment. This is because hair that’s prone to frizz is often lacking in the necessary nutrients and moisture.

Keratin treatments can be amazing for combatting frizz, so even if there are high humidity levels in the air, your hair is not going to suffer.

You struggle to style your hair:

If you struggle to style your hair and find that blow drying or other forms of heat styling don’t work particularly well, a keratin treatment could help by smoothing out unwanted kinks while rebuilding the hair and strengthening it.

Your hair is brittle or dry:

With the growing use of heat tools, dry hair has become a common complaint. Dry or brittle hair can also happen due to using the wrong hair products, eating an unbalanced diet or even overexposure to the sun, which can dehydrate the hair. A keratin treatment can not only improve the straightness of hair but also improve and rebuild the hair’s structure by rehydrating and nourishing each strand.

Your hair is prone to split ends and breakage:

Another common complaint of those seeking keratin treatments is that they cannot grow their hair because it is prone to split ends and breakage. If your hair is prone to breakage, it is often a sign that it lacks protein and could benefit from the unique protein technology within a keratin smoothing treatment. Once your hair is healthier, you should have no problems growing long lengths.

You’re unhappy with your curls:

If you’re unhappy with your curls, your curls have become unruly, or you would simply like to transform your look and adopt straighter tresses, a keratin hair treatment could be perfect for you. If you’ve been straightening your hair as a short-term solution and need something longer-term, this is also an ideal solution.

A keratin treatment will smooth naturally curly hair into straight hair whilst also repairing any damage and strengthening the hair.

SEPTEMBER FASHION WEEK

7 Sep 2022

While the hair we create in salon is not defined by trends, we do look to them to keep your style fresh. Each season, members of our Art Team are  backstage working at LFW. While we’re at the forefront of trends we incorporate what is happening on the catwalk by blending inspiration with hair that works for you. Each time you visit us in the salon you receive the full HARE & BONE experience. We are committed to progress, through continuous education and development of our team, so we always produce contemporary, yet wearable hair designs.

So what will we be recommending this autumn/winter?

Waves are sticking around for another season so there’s a softness to hair for the season ahead. Embrace the natural texture of your hair and work with the wave. Bobs are big for the coming months and there are so many variations that can be tailored to work with your hair type and lifestyle. French, Italian, flicked, bottleneck, Botticelli and, of course, the 90s bob. Another 90s look from everyone’s most  sought-after hair icon is the shoulder kissing style seen on Jennifer Aniston. This is all about movement and bounce. Keeping with the 90s feel, Jennifer Lopez’s long length is fresh and high end. Long hair needs lots of care to look that luxurious and I recommend using Oribe Hair Alchemy Shampoo and Conditioner. It moisturises and restores from within, making hair feel hydrated and strong.

Last season the money piece was a popular trend for colour. This season it has evolved to be a little more extreme. Now colour placement has moved to underneath the hair or even stripes of highlights, which was first a massive hit with the Spice Girls and AllSaints in the mid 90s. This is the perfect trend to showcase where inspiration comes from and how in the salon we adapt it to be everyday looks for our clients. We have the skill and knowledge to create the two-toned look but also the expertise to customise it for you.

Moving into the 2000s, the red and copper tones rocked by Rihanna in 2k is very much back. This trend has resurfaced alongside others such as the Juicy Couture tracksuit. The first one to change it up was Kendal Jenner for Prada earlier this year and it’s progressed from there. Other celebrities are now following suit for new copper locks such as Phoebe Dynevor.

Models Own

Collection Name – Models Own

Synopsys – “Models Own” is our latest consumer focused collection designed to speak to and inspire the Hare & Bone client. We have worked with and enhanced the natural textures whilst considering the suitability of face shape and drawing out the personality of each model.
We have used a subtle combination of balayage, blending and face framing techniques to suggest the focal points of each style.
We really wanted to capture the subtlety of the tones and textures so shot using only natural light in a 90’s ID-Magazine Style, to add to the authenticity of this stripped back celebration on individuality.

Colours – Dusty coppers, Sandy Blonds, Cool Chocolates, bronze, gold
